All of that antagonism I built up for the ball seems to have done me no good whatsoever. That's right, ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to this Halloween Ball. With Cam Cameron is forcing m Cameron has a way with threats words, and managed to convince me to follow in his wake.

Now all I need is a costume.

If you would only beat him up without my asking. Please prepare for self combustion.

I am prepared.

Why him?

So mom won't end up with rotting elf heads in her post, and so I will be spared from the gypsies.

I just figured I would go with him. Eventually he'll get bored like he's done in the past and then I'll be off the hook. Until then, might as well keep everyone safely away from Cameron's threats.

I can get Raleigh to whisk you away if you wanted. Or ask you out or something.

As much as I love Raleigh and appreciate you donating him to fake ask me out - I'll pass. Besides, wouldn't you rather go to the ball with him?

I would like to, but last time I checked he was straight and I am not a female.

I'm sure you could do a charm that could make you look like one?

Besides, Coraline said that if I embrace this situation there's a good chance that Finnigan will get bored (or scared) that much faster. If that doesn't work then I'm all for pretending to be with Raleigh.

That doesn't really help in the long run.

Alright well I'm sure he'd help regardless of who he's doing at the time so just use the signal.

True. I think Raleigh would eventually figure out that you weren't a real girl.

Right, when I tug on my ear you throw Raleigh into the hallway.

It's definitely all about the chase. As soon as you give up, he'll be disinterested. Or you could go the 'How to lose a guy in ten days' route. Have you ever seen it? It's like..one of my aunt's favorite muggle movies.

If you haven't, I'll fill you in. It's fool proof.

I've seen it, actually. So, let me get this straight, I should try and run him off? You think that would work?

I've heard that certain Mr. Finnigan is afraid of commitment. Give him what he's afraid of, and he'll take off faster than you can say goodbye.

You don't think he'd enjoy the attention too much? I hate giving him what he wants... but maybe your idea is best. Not to mention the quickest route.

I've unfortunately known Cameron for a while. He thinks Quidditch is a personal competition between himself and who can catch the most girls. It's really very sad. But anyway--if you get too close, he jumps away as fast as he can. I've personally seen it happen. But it wasn't on purpose.

Wow, that is quite unfortunate. Wait... what? That's stu-no, that's Cameron. I think I might try it, then. It's worth a shot, right? And what do you mean by "personally seen it happen"?

He dated one of the girls on the team before she graduated. She got a little...closer than he liked and he took off as fast as he could. Poor girl. And you should definitely go for it. Better to have the upper hand!

Who knows. All I know is that he's a flirt and he writes a lot more songs than anyone I know. Oh--and he doesn't quite play quidditch as much as he plays 'Let's see how many girls I can catch in one game'. I'm surprised Longbottom keeps him on the team.

Flirt, song writer, annoying, Quidditch player, infuriating - the boy seems to have gathered a lot of titles over the years. I guess we can add: potential felon and stubborn.

I think arse fits him well. And if someone tells him to do something for a reward, I'm sure potential felon could fit.

So you're being dragged to the ball. I feel for you.

You aren't going?

He has no tact. It's like when boys used to think that hitting us was a great way to show that they secretly liked us.

No. I don't really have anyone to go with and even if I did, I'd either end up breaking myself or my date. So...no. I'll probably get my extra work done.
